Pests and fire are more likely to spread in a building made primarily out of wooden planks than one made out of metal. Metal buildings also fare better during an earthquake or hurricane as the resistance is much higher due to the compressive strength. Metal building are also more durable and capable of supporting the immense weight of skyscrapers compared to buildings made of wood which can only support a couple of floors. A common man would generally associate metal buildings with huge structures such as shopping complexes and huge indoor stadiums. This is however now a fact of past as even households and people looking to build homes and small offices are also opting for metal buildings structure.
