We initially hoped to begin the project two years before it actually was able to start. Thanks to the bureaucracy that goes along with living in an historic district in a big city, the permit process delayed us quite a bit. After our proposal and plans were finally approved and the permits awarded, our contractors were scheduled to begin the end of January. We were putting a three story addition on. The process would involve demolishing parts of the back of the hundred year old house, as well as digging out for additional basement space.
